JOB TITLE: Maintenance Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager

HOURS OF OPERATION: According to Assigned Shift

POSITION LEVEL: Exempt



POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Supervisor performs highly diversified duties to oversee the installs, troubleshooting, repairs and maintains production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Maintains and improves all aspects of the facility. The Supervisor has the encompassing responsibility for all personnel, training, quality, PMs, and monitoring maintenance costs. Supervisors must constantly ensure that ALL tasks are performed regularly and within expectations. Supervisors must have the ability to forecast materials needed, necessary labor requirements, and ensure that associated costs are kept within budget. This position facilitates the overall operations. Individuals in this role must have excellent time-management skills, be able to constantly adjust priorities, and be able to communicate changes and reasons for all personnel involved.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure that all repairs are completed in timely manner.

2. Ensure that Quality measures are continuously maintained in every step of the parts manufacturing process and that follow up tasks are met and communicated.

3. Analyze labor hours and minimize overtime needed to meet operation production dates.

4. Perform maintenance walks daily to make sure that all PM’s are completed on equipment.

5. Provide training and cross training for all associates.

6. Provide guidance and feedback to Production Leads, Production Workers, and Management.

7. Ensure that all safety and employment policies are followed and that proper disciplinary actions are taken for non-conformance.

8. Focus on maintenance department optimization on all shifts and assist in planning, expediting, and troubleshooting as required.

9. Ensure that adequate inventory of necessary supplies are on hand for daily and weekly operations.

10. Write work orders for preventive maintenance, 5S program, and hazardous waste removal.

11. Ensure that all work instructions are updated and utilized by all technicians.

12. Recommend capital purchase needs and improvements.

13. Facilitate the job assignments for all Technicians.

14. Investigate accidents, complete necessary reporting requirements, and authorize corrective actions.

15. Lead and administer progressive counseling or discipline as needed and facilitate the documentation procedures with HR.

16. Promote culture of improvement with coaching for success of work teams

17. Other duties as assigned.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

-High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in related field; Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills

· 7-10 years of maintenance experience required

· 3-5 plus years maintenance supervision experience

· 1-2 years lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience preferred

· Solid computer literacy required (Microsoft Office, ERP Software)

· Understand PLC’s and control systems.



SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

· Ability to read and comprehend Blueprints and Schematics.

· Be able to understand and promote safe manufacturing practices.

· Familiarity with MIG, TIG, and Plasma welding processes.

· Technical abilities in machining with CNC mill, lathe, and wire EDM.

· Basic understanding of an ISO quality system as well as safe manufacturing practices.

· Possess strong verbal and written communication skills; listening skills; and attention to details.

· Ability to interact well with people, build strong rapport, establish trust and credibility.

· Ability to mentor and teach new applications or techniques as required.

· Ability to prioritize and manage a continuously changing, fast-paced environment, and be able to address employee concerns.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

MATHMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and complete statistical analysis using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to develop and interpret numerous graphs.



REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in all situations.

Schedule

The schedule is Monday thru Friday primarily on Dayshift.  Must be able to flex hours as needed based on business needs to meet with other shifts.  Weekend work may be required at times.
